When the day's work is done and the evening comes on soft and gold, there is no finer place to be than the front porch, and no finer thing to do than make a little music there. Casey takes up his guitar the way he does most every evening, and Kenzie sings along, soft at first and then with her whole heart, working through the old songs about home and open fields and long summer nights. Even the little barn swallow on the railing stops to listen a while.
This is a scene from the world of Kettle & Key, a warm, hand-finished piece of the good country life, ready to bring home. It belongs anywhere you gather and slow down: a family room, a music corner, a kitchen where suppers are made and songs are hummed, a wall where you want the warmth of a summer evening to linger all year.
